By Grace School (BGS) is located in Mae Chaerim, a mountainous, remote village in Nan Province, 435 miles north of Bangkok, with little exposure to amenities or opportunities available in larger Thai cities. This is one of the ministry sites where our FBA team will serve.

By Grace School developed out of AMG International's outreach to children in the village in 1982 after the Vietnam War. During AMG's work in the Lao refugee camp, the spiritual and physical needs of the Thai villagers became evident. Many children were malnourished, no one was educated beyond 6th grade, and children were left alone to take care of babies as their parents worked in the fields. There were no known Christians in the village as superstition, Spiritism, and Buddhism dominates.

Agriculture is still the main source of revenue in Nan Province. However, it does not generate enough income to support families and parents often insist that their children help earn a living. Young parents commonly migrate to larger cities or overseas for better job opportunities--leaving children with elderly relatives and little chance for advancement. Without an education, a generational cycle of poverty continues and children, especially girls, are at risk for human trafficking. BGS is a safe environment where children can reach their full potential through quality education and the knowledge of the Gospel. It is the one strategic Christian presence in the district.

By Grace School serves preschool through grade 6 and greatly assists parents working in the fields by offering a 3-year preschool program.

AMG believes in expressing the love of Jesus in a holistic manner, ministering to children's physical, spiritual, educational, and emotional needs. We do this primarily through investing in national workers and churches as we equip them to express the love of Christ in word and deed.

At By Grace School, children receive clothing, education, medical care, and nutritious meals. They are surrounded by loving adults who introduce them to Jesus Christ, provide help as needed, and encourage personal and community responsibility. In addition, this small rural community is enhanced as BGS provides stability, resources, and employment for residents.

Support Discovery

One of the most challenging and exciting aspects of following God to serve on a short-term team is trusting Him to provide for the cost of the trip. At FBA, we ask all team members to send out letters, emails, etc to invite others to pray and to support the team financially. There is nothing so humbling and confirming as seeing God provide for what He has called you to do.

1 Thessalonians 5:24 says; "Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will bring it to pass." It may not be when you expect it. It may not be from whom you expect it. But God's faithful provision is sure if He has called you to serve on a short-term team.

Our Thailand Trip Dates are: July 24 - August 6, 2018 and the Trip Cost is: $2600 per person.

If you would like to help us share the love of Christ with boys and girls like the ones pictured below, simply go to https://my.fba.org/portal/mission_trip_giving.aspx and select "Thailand 2018." Thank you for joing us in what God is doing through FBA's Thailand Team this year!

A Mission Team is Born!

It is amazing thing to see people respond to God's call to serve on a short-term mission team! We had our Interest Meeting for our first-ever FBA Thailand Team on Sunday February 11th. By the time we had our first team meeting one month later, eight people had applied and been accepted to serve on this year's Thailand team!

We are so thankful for God's faithfulness and invite you to join us as we follow God to Thailand this year!
